Gaara
is 12 years old and was born on January 19. About six years ago, Gaara’s uncle, Yashamaru, tried to kill Gaara as he
thought Gaara was becoming too dangerous (after killing a man that passed him on the street). His attempt failed, and later,
ninjas were sent, but they were all killed by Gaara.
Gaara
carries a gourd of sand wherever he goes, and it is believed that the gourd is made of sand and the blood of the people he
killed, which he says gives him power. In battle, he takes out sand from the gourd and uses it to kill off his enemies by
means of techniques called Desert Graveyard and Desert Coffin.
Sometimes,
he uses a sleep spell for himself to go to sleep and for the demon, Shukaku, to awaken.The tattoo on his forehead means 'love'
and he swore to love himself and only himself. He sought to feel his exsistence by killing others.
